Gordon R. Milne, BA, CA.IFA, DIFA
INTRODUCTION
Mr. Milne is a CA-designated specialist in investigative and forensic accounting (CA.IFA - 2007). Mr. Milne began his career in 1979 articling with Price Waterhouse and in 1981 received his Chartered Accountant designation. In 1983 Mr. Milne moved to a smaller firm of Chartered Accountant as a Manager and was subsequently admitted as a Partner in 1989. It was at this time in his career that Mr. Milne began providing quantification of economic losses and other investigative and forensic accounting services. In 2005, Mr. Milne started his own practice under the name of Gordon R. Milne Inc. and in 2010 formed Milne Forensic Services Inc. as an exclusive investigative and forensic accounting practice.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Investigative and Forensic Accounting
Mr. Milne has extensive experience in the investigative and forensic accounting field. Over the last twenty-five years Mr. Milne has prepared a substantial number of expert witness reports for the following types of engagements:
personal injury claims
business interruption
commercial and contract litigation
fraud investigations
accounting disputes
In addition to expert witness reports, Mr. Milne has performed engagements including:
analysis of reports prepared by other experts
dispute resolution
fraud prevention
Litigation support as a consultant.
Expert Witness
Mr. Milne has been qualified numerous times as an expert witness in Supreme Court of British Columbia involving assessment of economic damages for civil litigation cases.
Consulting and accounting
In his almost thirty years as a Chartered Accountant Mr. Milne has provided audit, accounting and taxation services to both privately owned companies and not-for-profit entities. Mr. Milne has also been engaged to provide consulting services including:
financial performance analysis and forecasts
purchase and sale of businesses
financing advice and negotiation of loans
preparation of business plans
Industries
In each of the areas of Mr. Milne's professional experience he has had exposure to companies which included manufacturers, service providers and in retail sales. These companies varied in size and operated in a variety of industries. In addition, Mr. Milne has performed engagements for numerous not-for-profit entities.
